Oklahoma Blood: Eastern Oklahoma’s Rising Groove Thrash Sensation

Oklahoma Blood, a three-piece groove thrash band from eastern Oklahoma, is making waves in the metal scene with their heavy, hard-hitting sound. Describing their music as "hard and heavy, tasty metal," drummer and vocalist Michael Freeman explains that their style adds a unique twist to the classic thrash metal genre. With influences from iconic bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth, Oklahoma Blood carves out a distinct sound they call groove thrash.

The band’s journey began with lead guitarist Slade Anderson and bass guitarist John Webb, who grew up writing music together. Webb first started playing at his church, where he later met their drummer, Michael Freeman. The trio quickly found their groove, creating a dynamic energy that sets them apart in the metal world.

“Music isn’t something I do, it’s everything I am,” says Freeman, known for his impressive high notes and powerful drumming. His passion is evident in every performance, while Webb’s resonant basslines and energetic stage presence help drive the band's powerful sound. Anderson’s skilled guitar playing, blending melody with heaviness, adds intensity and depth to their performances.

The dynamics of this band are very unique to our genre, and we are very blessed and lucky to have stumbled upon something that clicks so well and sets us apart.
