Logan Ellis Gears Up for New EP Release in 2025

Emerging bluegrass-inspired artist Logan Ellis is preparing for a major release this February, with an EP that promises to blend the best of Americana storytelling and acoustic charm. Known for his raw, heartfelt performances, Ellis has been captivating audiences with a sound that channels the authentic spirit of Merle Haggard, paired with the modern edge of Zach Bryan, and the timeless soul of Ralph Stanley.

Ellis, whose career began under the mentorship of traveling musician Mike Ball, has spent the last nine years mastering the guitar. He still plays lead guitar for Ty Blackburn Band, but only recently stepped into the role of singer-songwriter. After the release of his latest single, an entire bar in Canyon, TX, erupted with fans standing on tables and chairs, singing along to his music—a moment that cemented his rising star status.

The upcoming EP, which Ellis has been hard at work on, is set to feature a mix of working-class stories and tradesman experiences. “Street Lights” was the exception to this, being inspired by the cover art instead. What makes Ellis unique is his writing process—he pens his songs while working at job sites, never at home, a reflection of his connection to the stories he tells.

In preparation for his February release, Ellis has been performing across local venues, including being an alternative for Lubbock’s Blue Light Songwriters Competition, a highly regarded event for showcasing emerging singer-songwriters. The new EP will include that fiddle and drum elements will add extra depth to his Americana sound. It’s a collection that, according to Ellis, will be fun, energetic, and true to his roots as both a musician and a tradesman.

This is what I do for fun, it always has been.
— Logan Ellis

As Ellis gears up for his next chapter, the buzz around his music continues to grow. Whether performing solo or with a band, his down-to-earth presence and ability to connect with audiences make him an artist to watch in the Americana and bluegrass scenes.
